COUNSELING, IN PERSON OR ONLINE
Counseling is a healing conversation.  That's true in person, and it's true online.
Regardless of how we meet, the conversation between us is designed to help you clarify your goals and to make positive changes.
Technology offers us a variety of possible ways we can communicate, in case traditional face to face appointments aren't for you.

Online counseling has several important benefits:
It allows you to fit counseling into your routine, when and where you are comfortable.

Some people are never without an electronic device, and online is the normal place to catch the headlines, communicate with friends, shop, play.
Counseling can take place online too.  Why not?

Some people have crazy work schedules, and fitting in one more appointment into an overcrowded week is impossible.
Counseling online offers scheduling flexibility.

Some people have difficulty getting access to counseling services nearby.  Your keyboard is always nearby.  Right?

So how do we meet?

Easy.  Online counseling can take place using email or Skype (video or text), or by phone, as you prefer.

You are welcome to ask any questions about online counseling, using the Contact Me page.
When you are ready to proceed, let me know.  Every email counseling relationship starts with my asking you for some background information that may be relevant, as well as the particular concern that has brought you to counseling at this time.  The counseling emails begin at that point.  You are not limited in the length of your emails.
Counseling by Skype or phone is by appointment.  Whatever medium you prefer, my promise is to respond promptly.

If you are having thoughts of suicide
For anyone in this situation, you deserve an immediate response, more quickly than online counseling can provide.
I encourage you to take care of yourself by calling a crisis line, where you will receive that  immediate support, available 24 hours/day, and possibly referral to resources located nearby.  The number provided below will connect you to the nearest crisis line.
Please know that I take your concerns seriously, and want to work with you as soon as you are safe.
Meantime, if you have thoughts of suicide, please call
1 (800) 273-TALK or 1 (800) 273-8255.
Be well.
Come back and tell me how you are doing, ok?
